Material test certificate (MTC)
The steel maker's certificate for a plate or tube: its material and test results, identified by certificate, cast and plate number. Under IBR 2026, the material certificates go with a boiler's registration (Form V Part A).
One certificate often covers parts of several boilers, so a system that keeps each one once and links it to every part avoids retyping and mismatches; see the IBR statutory folder from a BOM and Form V Part A.
